Rising country artist Wyatt Floresโ new song, โOh Susannah,โ is out today alongside a powerful music video.

Reflecting on the song, Flores shares, โThe story behind this song is just me having to take a mental break back in February and coming back to it all realizing that I need to take care of myself before I can even think about taking care of others, and thatโs all I ever wanted to do. So I did have to take a step back and this song is an apology from me to my fans.โ
โOh Susannahโ is the latest track unveiled from Floresโ highly anticipated full-length debut album, Welcome To The Plains, which will be released October 18 on Island Records (pre-order/pre-save here). Ahead of the release, Flores recently shared lead single, โDonโt Wanna Say Goodnight,โ which Rolling Stone calls โa powerful, energetic love song,โ while Billboard praises, โa sturdy songwriter and vocalist in equal measure. His latest pulses with the raw energy of a full-band sound, thrashing percussion and churning guitars.โ
Produced by Beau Bedford (Orville Peck, Shane Smith & The Saints) and recorded between Los Angeles and Asheville, Welcome To The Plains details Floresโ journey as he balances the struggle of leaving his hometown of Stillwater, OK with the highs and lows of life on the road. Across these 14 tracks, including songwriting collaborations with Old Crow Medicine Showโs Ketch Secor and Aaron Raitiere, Flores delivers the grounded and sincere storytelling heโs celebrated for, seamlessly blending traditional country and folk sounds.
Of the project, Flores reflects, โItโs an album about home and a search for happiness. Itโs an album about Stillwater, Oklahoma, and all the other little towns that have raised people like you and me. Itโs an album about my family, and the people and places in my life who have defined who I am today. This album is happy on one side and heartbreak on the other, and whoever you are, I hope you find something you love in here.โ
In celebration of the new music, Flores will embark on his โWelcome To The Plains Tourโ this fall, which includes his largest headline shows to date. Upcoming stops include Nashvilleโs historic Ryman Auditorium (two nights), Brooklynโs Brooklyn Paramount, Los Angelesโ Fonda Theatre (sold out), Tulsaโs Cainโs Ballroom (two nights), Bostonโs House of Blues, Atlantaโs The Eastern, Chicagoโs Vic Theatre, Pittsburghโs Stage AE, Washington D.C.โs 9:30 Club and Fort Worthโs Billy Bobโs Texas among many others. See below for complete tour itinerary. Full details can be found at www.wyattfloresmusic.com/tour.
Born and raised in Oklahoma, the Mexican-American artist has established himself as one of country musicโs most vital voices with his three previous EPs, including Half Life, which was released earlier this spring. Receiving widespread critical attention, The New York Times praised, โWyatt FloresโฆHas a Superpower: Tapping Emotions,โ while NPR Music declared, โa fantastic recordโฆhe is making a big splash out thereโ and Holler proclaimed, โFlores at his gloriously life affirming, existential best.โ
Further adding to his breakout year, Flores was named one of Rolling Stoneโs 25 โFuture of Musicโ artists, selected as Amazonโs Breakthrough Artist of the Year, included in Spotifyโs Hot Country Class of 2024 and CMTโs Listen Up class, and made his Grand Ole Opry debut earlier this year. Additionally, Flores has garnered over 325 million streams to date, saw his 2022 breakout single, โPlease Donโt Go,โ scale the Billboard Hot Country Songs Chart and had his song โBefore I Doโ with Jake Kohn featured on the soundtrack for the new Twisters movie.
